Personal Automobile Policy Most of our companies offer various types of coverage not offered on the standard automobile policy. Some of examples of this coverage are as follows: Emergency Expense Coverage Part D: Coverage for damage to your auto (while more than 100 miles away from your home).
This coverage could pay up to $1,000 for all of you reasonable expenses such as temporary housing, travel expenses for you to get home, cost to return your covered automobile to your home or place of garaging except in the case of a total loss. No deductible will apply to Emergency Expense Coverage. Receipts are required to verify your reasonable expenses. Renewal Assurance Some of our companies offer the assurance that your policy will be renewed providing your policy has been continuously in force with that company for at least twelve months, if you pay your renewal premium when due, your license has not been suspended, you can provide medical proof that you are a safe operator, and have not been convicted of any drug or alcohol related offense. Accident Forgiveness Some companies we represent offer accident forgiveness with various conditions that apply. For example, one company requires that the accident was the first chargeable accident in the past three years. While another company requires that the policy holder has had no chargeable accidents in the prior five years or any major traffic violations. Diminishing Deductible The diminishing deductible endorsement offers safe drivers a $100.00 credit to their deductible annually. Customers will earn a $100.00 credit upon purchase of the policy with the endorsement. Every year you remain accident and/or major violation free without a lapse in coverage you will receive an additional $100.00 credit up to a maximum of $500.00 toward your comprehensive and collision deductibles. In some policies the entire deductible is waived in the event of a total loss. Personal Automobile Coverage Information In the state of Texas Automobile insurance covering liability for injury and property damage is required. The current state required limits are $25,000/$50,000/$25,000. This covers the policy holder for $25,000 for bodily injury per person with a maximum of $50,000 of bodily injury coverage per accident. The last coverage amount, $25,000, is the maximum amount the insurance company will pay for property damage. This includes the damage done to another vehicle or damage to property of others. It is always a good idea to consider purchasing limits of liability higher than the state required limits. There are many vehicles on the streets in Texas with values in excess of $25,000. The state required limits are just not adequate. It is likely that if you were at fault in an accident and injured one or more people in another vehicle the $25,000 required bodily injury limit could be used up very quickly by the injured party. Higher limits will not only offer piece of mind, but also an additional feature is that the insurance company provides their lawyers at their expense and the limits you have purchased will be completely available to use for settlements or judgments.
